Luggage allowance for each ferry
If you are travelling with the ferry operated by Bundhaya Speed Boat, you are allowed 1 item of luggage weighing up to 30kg. For the other two ferry operators from Langkawi to Koh Lipe you are allowed 1 item of luggage also, but it is suggested that if you are travelling with oversized bags you should book another seat on the ferry.

National Park entrance fee for Koh Lipe
When arriving at the island, there is a 200 THB fee for the National Park entrance which is not included in the ferry price from Langkawi to Koh Lipe.

Pakbara entrance fee
For ferries with the final destination of Satun Pakbara Immigration point, from Langkawi to Koh Lipe, each person will be charged an additional 20 TBH upon arrival.

High season changes
During high season on Koh Lipe, the ferries that run to Koh Lipe Immigration Point and Satun Pakbara Immigration Point will drop by Koh Tarutao and Koh Khai for about 15-30 minutes, before arriving into their final destination noted on the ticket from Langkawi to Koh Lipe.

GETTING TO DEPARTURE STATIONS IN LANGKAWI

When planning your journey from Langkawi to Koh Lipe, you will need to consider the time it will take you to commute from your accommodation to the departure station ahead of getting your ferry. This is how you can get to these stations before catching your ferry to make the journey from Langkawi to Koh Lipe…

Getting to Kuah Jetty on Langkawi
This is the main arrival and departure station for ferries in Langkawi, and because of this there are taxi and private cars available to drive you directly there, as well as being a bus that arrives outside of the City Bayview Hotel in Kuah.

Getting to Telegae Harbor Marina on Langkawi
For this departure station, there is no form of public transport. You will need to book a taxi or private transfer ahead of your ferry trip from Langkawi to Koh Lipe.

HOW TO GET TO YOUR FINAL DESTINATION FROM KOH LIPE

Getting around Koh Lipe is quite easy with it being such a small island. Once you have arrived by ferry from Langkawi to Koh Lipe you then have these options to choose from to get you to your final destination. You can either take a motorbike or golf cart taxi, rent a bicycle or if you haven’t got far to go from the arrival location of the ferry, you could simply walk whilst enjoying being surrounded by breathtaking landscapes.

On average there are 6 ferries in operation per day, split between departing from either Kuah Jetty or Telaga Harbor Marina. From Telega Harbor Maring there are 2 ferries, with 1 in the morning at 9.30am and 1 in the afternoon at 2.30pm, both arriving at Satun Pakbara Immigration point. THE BEST TIME TO VISIT KOH LIPE

This petite paradise island is best visited during the months of December through to and including March. Throughout this period temperatures reach between 25-30 degrees and there is the lowest amount of rainfall.

If you are looking to go to Koh Lipe when there are less tourists, then November and June are the ideal months for you, but please note that even though temperatures can still reach up to 30 degrees, there is more rainfall expected.

HOW LONG TO VISIT KOH LIPE FOR

Spending 3 days on the island of Koh Lipe is ideal, however, if you have the time to stay for a bit longer then I suggest you do, as this will allow you to really enjoy the luxurious paradise that it embodies alongside all of the activities and relaxation moments that it has to offer. Extending your trip up to 5 days is a great option.

Watch a sunrise
If you’re not a morning person, this is something you will definitely want to get up early for. Sunrise beach has this name for a reason, because it offers the perfect spot to watch one of Koh Lipe’s gorgeous sunrises. Start your day off well with this inspiring must-do experience.

Go snorkelling or diving
Koh Lipe offers a breathtaking underwater world. You will be swimming through crystal clear turquoise waters whilst being able to admire the beautiful marine life. Visit the beaches

During the other months the humidity can be quite intense and their main rainfall period is throughout September and October.

HOW TO GET TO DEPARTURE PORTS ON KOH SAMUI

There are several options to travel around Koh Samui with, making it accessible and easier to get the pier you need to depart by when going from Koh Samui to Koh Tao. Once you arrive at Mae Haad Pier in Koh Tao you have a few options of how to then commute to your final destination. If you know where you need to go and how to get there then renting either a scooter or motorcycle would be a good choice, or if you don’t need to go far you could go by foot. As the island is only 21 sq km, there are no options for public transport or renting a car.

If you are unsure of exactly how to get to where you need to be, booking a taxi would be a good choice for you, these are either via motorbikes or pick up trucks, which are also known as songthaews. Alongside these options, there is also the chance to take a longtail boat depending on your final destination location, as this form of transport only goes to certain bays.

THE BEST TIME TO VISIT KOH TAO

Depending on what you are looking to do on Koh Tao, depends on which is the best time to visit. The two months that are not encouraged for travellers to go are October and November as these are known for being their monsoon season.

If you are looking to experience great diving, the best weather conditions and not too many tourists, then the month you will want to visit is February. However if that doesn’t suit you but you want to have clear waters for diving, July through to and including August is also a great time to go.

HOW LONG TO SPEND ON KOH TAO
