our latest op-eds
The Hechinger Report covers inequality and innovation in education with in-depth journalism that draws on research, data and stories from classrooms and campuses to show the public how education can be improved and why it matters. In our opinion pages, we seek to publish voices that can add to the discussion about how to approach — and solve — the biggest problems in education. In particular, we look to amplify voices that are not always heard in conversations about education.
We will consider all Op-Ed submissions that are under 900 words and written in jargon-free, colloquial language. Op-Eds must stand alone and make a compelling argument focused on ideas and policies. All Op-Eds undergo a rigorous editing process.
The Hechinger Report reserves the right to choose the image published with each opinion. This image will be chosen according to our editorial guidelines and standards and requirements for social media.
Submissions can be sent to opinion@hechingerreport.org. We strive to respond to everyone, but please bear in mind that we receive many submissions and cannot publish or respond to all of them.
