Hi there. Wow it’s a very tough question. I think El Valle de Anton is a great place to base for a few days. Lots of hikes to do there and very beautiful and nice town. I stayed there for an entire month. I also loved the hikes in Boquete and stayed there 3 weeks. Santa Catalina is a great coastal town.

Hey Carmen! I suggest Bocas Del Toro for sloths and birds. However, I even saw sloths and toucans on hikes just near the city. Literally with views of Panama City in the background I’ve seen both sloths and Toucans. Panama is very wild still so you should keep your eyes out for wildlife everywhere. Try Santa Catalina for marine life. I saw both whales, crocodiles and turtles there all in one day!

I was planning to visit Panama with the main objective of seeing wildlife.
I went through your blog and stories , but could you recommend me your favourite places in Panama to observe wildlife? I’m planning to visit Panama in March, so I will miss the whales migration and turtles.
