Emphasize the major and minor classes and eliminate unnecessary general education classes. High school is supposed to prepare you for life. College should prepare you for your career.

The students can decide what works best for them.

Spend that money on educating students.

Hopeful college-bound students are urged to get a marketable skill in trade schools since these schools will give sound training and won’t include the eating habits of grasshoppers (et al) found in the majority of today’s vaudeville colleges and universities. Add the fact that most colleges receive a kick-back for enrolling any student which shows that money and numbers is the only concern. With such a mentality and being greed-saturated, any sort of education supposedly offered is entirely pretentious and bogus. Trade school is the only way to learn a good skill.

For years, students have been bilked for low quality gen-ed classes. It’s time for this to stop altogether. https://www.purdue.edu/hhs/degreein3/plans.php

A typical engineering or technical degree could be completed in ~ 3 years at most public universities, except 30+ credit hours (one year) are often mandated for unrelated classes in order to fulfill dubious ‘humanities & social science’ requirements. i.e. To force-feed liberalism into otherwise practical and logically oriented degree candidates… while charging them another year for the privilege.
